WWE’s Resurgence: Triple H’s Leadership Transforms Raw and SmackDown, Boosting Viewership and Acclaim

WWE has undergone significant changes in the past two years, particularly since Triple H took over as Chief Content Officer following Vince McMahon’s initial retirement. The company has experienced a resurgence in popularity, critical acclaim, and record-breaking attendance and viewership for their events. With “SmackDown” returning to USA Network and “Raw” set to air on Netflix in January, the momentum shows no signs of slowing down.

On a recent episode of “Busted Open Radio,” co-hosts Bully Ray and Dave LaGreca discussed the current state of WWE, particularly “Raw,” compared to its previous incarnation. Bully Ray noted that under the previous management, WWE had become predictable and uninspiring. However, he believes that today’s WWE is performing exceptionally well, with little room for criticism. He described the old “Raw” as “cookie cutter” and “paint by numbers,” often causing viewers to lose interest. In contrast, the current product is keeping audiences engaged with its entertaining content, diverse camera shots, innovative character presentations, and exciting matches.
