WWE’s Damian Priest Earns Praise Despite Injury Scare in Clash at The Castle Title Defense
Damian Priest successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre at the Clash at The Castle Premium Live Event, despite an injury scare during the match.
During the main event, Priest attempted a high-risk maneuver on McIntyre, which resulted in McIntyre’s ankle getting caught on the rope. This led to a near-fall that could have seriously injured McIntyre. However, Priest was able to secure the win after interference from CM Punk.
Fightful Select’s Backstage report revealed that Priest received significant praise for his performance at the event, despite wrestling through an injury.
“Damien Priest got a lot of praise for his Clash of the Castle performance,” Sean Ross Sapp reported.
This positive response from WWE insiders suggests that Priest’s stock is rising within the company. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the World Heavyweight Champion, but his resilience and determination at Clash at The Castle have certainly earned him new respect from fans and colleagues alike.
