WWE’s AJ Styles Set for Showdown with Naomichi Marifuji at Pro Wrestling NOAH Event in Japan
WWE Superstar AJ Styles will face Japanese wrestling legend Naomichi Marifuji at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Destination 2024 event on July 13th at Budokan Hall. Styles made the announcement via video during NOAH’s Sunday event, extending an invitation to Marifuji to “tear down the house.”
The Phenomenal One, a former top star in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), has a history with NOAH’s home country. Before joining WWE in 2016, Styles led the Bullet Club stable in NJPW and achieved significant success.
It is expected that Styles’ WWE colleagues and fellow Bullet Club members, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, will accompany him to Japan for the match.
This collaboration marks another instance of WWE’s involvement with the Japanese promotion. Earlier this year, WWE sent Shinsuke Nakamura to participate in NOAH’s The New Year event, facing The Great Muta as part of Muta’s retirement tour.
