WWE’s programming is undergoing significant changes this September. “SmackDown” is moving to USA Network after five years on FOX, while “NXT” is leaving USA for The CW, starting October 1. This marks The CW’s return to WWE content after a 15-year absence.

WWE is aiming to make “NXT’s” debut on The CW a major event. The show will air live from Chicago’s Allstate Arena instead of its usual Orlando location, with the goal of attracting over one million viewers. CM Punk is set to be the main attraction, appearing on September 17 to explain his role in the October 1 show. Other big names scheduled to appear include The Miz, Bianca Belair, and Jade Cargill. Additionally, Randy Orton will feature on the October 8 episode from his hometown of St. Louis.

Following these two arena shows, “NXT” is expected to return to its regular Orlando setting. The move to The CW and the inclusion of high-profile talent demonstrates WWE’s commitment to elevating “NXT’s” status, despite it still being considered a developmental brand.
