WWE Raw to Return to Two-Hour Format: Eric Bischoff Predicts Improved Pacing and Storytelling

WWE Raw is set to return to a two-hour format later this year, ahead of its move to Netflix in 2025. This change has generated excitement among wrestling fans, as the show has been running for three hours since 2012. Eric Bischoff, former WCW executive and on-screen general manager of Raw, recently shared his thoughts on this upcoming shift.

Bischoff believes the shorter runtime will significantly improve the show’s pacing and format. He predicts that the two-hour show will feel much faster-paced to viewers, allowing storylines to gain more momentum without becoming diluted. Bischoff also suggests that this change will benefit the talent, production team, and audience alike.

According to Bischoff, the condensed format will challenge WWE’s creative team to become more disciplined in their storytelling. He explains that while Raw needs a mix of main event storylines and secondary plots, the current three-hour format leaves too much time to fill, potentially weakening the overall narrative. The two-hour show, he argues, will force the creative team to tighten up their stories and present a more focused product.
