WWE Raw: Strowman Replaces COVID-Positive Reed in Triple Threat Match, Sparking Controversy

A last-minute change was made to this week’s “WWE Raw” when Bronson Reed tested positive for COVID-19. Reed was set to participate in a Triple Threat match for a chance to compete in next week’s Intercontinental Championship #1 Contenders’ Fatal Four-Way bout. Instead, Braun Strowman, who Reed had defeated the previous week, took his place in the match.

The decision to include Strowman has been met with criticism from fans and wrestling personalities. Nic Nemeth, speaking on “Busted Open Radio,” suggested that Strowman should have shown the effects of his recent loss instead of competing. Bully Ray, while attempting to understand WWE’s decision, proposed that the move might make sense if Strowman wins the tournament, only for Reed to later defeat him and take his spot. However, he admitted that he would have preferred a different approach to the situation.
