WWE Legend Lita Calls for Gender-Neutral Championships and More Intergender Wrestling

WWE Hall of Famer Lita, known for her groundbreaking role in intergender wrestling during the Attitude Era, recently shared her thoughts on the current state of women’s wrestling in WWE. Speaking at Comic-Con Northern Ireland alongside Trish Stratus, Lita praised the representation of women on WWE’s shows, noting that women’s matches now make up a significant portion of the programming.

However, Lita expressed a desire for further progress in the form of more intergender competition and gender-neutral championships. She suggested that titles should not be limited to specific genders, but rather be open to any wrestler who can secure a victory. This idea harkens back to WWE’s past experiments with intergender wrestling, such as the recently retired 24/7 Championship, which could be held by anyone regardless of gender or celebrity status. The most recent example of intergender storylines in WWE involves Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio, who participated in a mixed tag team match at Bash in Berlin.
