WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella files for divorce following husband’s domestic violence arrest
Nikki Bella, WWE Hall of Famer, has filed for divorce from her husband Artem Chigvintsev, a dancer on “Dancing with the Stars.” This development comes two weeks after Chigvintsev was arrested in California on felony domestic violence charges. Bella has hired attorney Evan Craig Itzkowitz to represent her in the divorce proceedings, which she began pursuing the day after Chigvintsev’s arrest.
The arrest occurred on August 29, when Chigvintsev called for medical assistance but then canceled the request. Police were dispatched anyway and took Chigvintsev into custody after observing visible injuries on Bella. The incident happened as the couple was celebrating their second wedding anniversary. They had met in 2017 when Bella was a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars,” began dating in 2018, got engaged in 2020, and welcomed their son Matteo in July of that year before marrying in August 2022.
