WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray critiques Giulia’s NXT debut, sees room for improvement
Giulia, a former STARDOM and NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion, made her debut in WWE NXT, defeating Chelsea Green. While her introduction was generally well-received, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes there’s still room for improvement.
On “Busted Open Radio,” Bully Ray described Giulia’s debut as a “good first-night introduction” but not groundbreaking. He acknowledged that adapting to the WWE style takes time, especially for wrestlers coming from Japanese promotions. Bully Ray praised Giulia’s performance and Chelsea Green’s role in helping her, but noted he would have liked to see more emotion from the newcomer.
Despite the hype surrounding Giulia, Bully Ray feels her potential hasn’t been fully showcased yet. He commended the NXT broadcast team for effectively introducing her background to the audience but believes the excitement around her arrival hasn’t been matched by what’s been seen in the ring so far. Bully Ray likened this to WWE’s skill at “subliminal manipulation,” describing wrestling as “smoke and mirrors.”
