WWE Champion Liv Morgan reveals early career struggles and unlikely path to success
Liv Morgan, currently the WWE Women’s World Champion, recently shared her emotional journey from when she first signed with WWE in 2014. Despite her current success, Morgan revealed she struggled with a mix of confidence and insecurity early in her career. She believed in her ability to reach the top but simultaneously doubted whether she was good enough to achieve her goals.
Morgan’s insecurities stemmed from her lack of prior connections to WWE and her limited athletic background. She felt physically behind in her in-ring training compared to other female wrestlers. However, a chance connection through her former job at Hooters led her to strength and conditioning coach Joe DeFranco. DeFranco, who had previously worked with WWE executive Paul “Triple H” Levesque, helped Morgan train and eventually connected her with WWE. Her hard work paid off when she impressed WWE officials during her tryout, leading to a contract offer and the start of her professional wrestling career.
