The Rock reveals strong off-screen bond with Vince McMahon, shares contract negotiation insights
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently shared insights about his behind-the-scenes relationship with former WWE boss Vince McMahon. Despite their on-screen conflicts during the Attitude Era, Johnson revealed that their off-screen bond was strong and beneficial. He credited this to his willingness to work hard and his deep respect for the wrestling business, which resonated with McMahon.
Johnson explained that as his career as The Rock took off, he and McMahon collaborated on taking wrestling to new heights. He also discussed the process of renegotiating his WWE contract. Initially, Johnson asked for $2 million after learning that Steve Austin was the highest-paid wrestler at $1 million. However, he later reduced his request to $1.5 million after McMahon encouraged him to study the financial aspects of the business before finalizing the deal.
