Stephen Amell Breaks Back on First Day of Wrestling Training for “Heels” TV Show
Stephen Amell, known for his role as Oliver Queen in “Arrow,” has become equally recognized for his passion for professional wrestling. He has participated in three wrestling matches, including appearances with WWE, Ring of Honor, and the All In event in 2018. Amell has also incorporated his wrestling enthusiasm into his acting career, starring in the Starz show “Heels.”
However, Amell’s involvement in wrestling has come at a physical cost. During an interview, he revealed a serious injury he sustained while filming “Heels.” On the first day of shooting wrestling scenes, Amell attempted a “coast to coast” move. After an unsatisfactory first attempt, he tried again, jumping too far and landing incorrectly. This resulted in compression fractures of his T10 and L1 vertebrae, effectively breaking his back on the very first day of wrestling training for the show.
