Scott D’Amore Launches Maple Leaf Wrestling, Reflects on Team Canada’s Legacy in TNA
Scott D’Amore, a prominent figure in Canadian wrestling, is launching a new promotion called Maple Leaf Wrestling. In a recent interview, D’Amore reflected on his time with Team Canada, a stable he managed in TNA Wrestling. He emphasized the group’s strong bond, recalling how they united with America’s Most Wanted to support Eric Young when he faced potential release, ultimately changing management’s decision.
D’Amore shared an emotional moment when Team Canada realized their journey from small Canadian venues to worldwide pay-per-views. He noted that even the tough Bobby Roode was moved to tears. After his time with Team Canada, D’Amore went on to run TNA Wrestling (later known as Impact Wrestling) before departing earlier this year due to disagreements with the parent company, Anthem. His new venture, Maple Leaf Wrestling, is set to debut on October 19 with a two-night event in Windsor, Ontario, called Forged In Excellence.
