Roman Reigns reflects on heel and babyface roles, reveals preference for villainous character despite career shift
Roman Reigns, a prominent WWE star, has shared his thoughts on portraying babyface (good guy) and heel (bad guy) characters in professional wrestling. Initially pushed as a babyface by WWE, Reigns struggled to win over fans. However, his transformation into a heel character as the leader of The Bloodline faction in 2020 proved to be a game-changer, leading to significant success and fan acceptance.
In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Reigns expressed that while being a heel has been most successful for his career and more enjoyable to perform, he acknowledges that portraying a babyface is generally easier. His heel run, which lasted four years, concluded after his loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. Following a brief absence from WWE, Reigns made a comeback at SummerSlam as a babyface, receiving an overwhelmingly positive reaction from fans who had previously rejected him in that role.
