Ricochet Discusses Lucha Underground Legacy, Teases Prince Puma Easter Eggs in AEW Entrances
From 2014 to 2018, “Lucha Underground” showcased a unique blend of wrestling styles, featuring many of today’s top stars under different personas. In a recent interview, Ricochet, who portrayed Prince Puma in the promotion, explained that fans are unlikely to see the return of characters like Prince Puma or Killshot (played by Swerve Strickland) because Lucha Underground owns the rights to these characters. However, Ricochet hinted that he might include subtle callbacks to Prince Puma in his AEW entrances for observant fans to spot.
Despite the controversy surrounding “Lucha Underground’s” restrictive contracts after the show’s end in 2018, Ricochet, who left before these issues arose, still holds positive memories of the promotion. He praised the show’s innovative approach, describing it as a TV drama about a wrestling company rather than just another wrestling program. During his time with “Lucha Underground,” Ricochet’s Prince Puma character had memorable matches against notable wrestlers like Johnny Mundo (John Morrison), Brian Cage, and Rey Mysterio before departing in 2016.
