Nigel McGuinness Challenges Bryan Danielson for AEW World Championship at Dynamite: Grand Slam
Nigel McGuinness, who recently returned to in-ring action at Wembley Stadium, has challenged AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson to a match at “AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.” This unexpected matchup wasn’t part of a long-term plan but rather a spontaneous decision. The two wrestlers have a history of fierce rivalry, having competed in brutal matches for ROH championships in the early 2000s.
The match between McGuinness and Danielson is possible because Darby Allin will be putting his title shot on the line against Jon Moxley on September 25. The winner of that match will face Danielson at a later event, likely WrestleDream in Washington. Meanwhile, Danielson is still recovering from a recent attack by the Blackpool Combat Club, who have separated from him and are now claiming to take over the promotion.
