Matt Riddle Expresses Interest in AEW, Reflects on WWE Career and Future Wrestling Options

Matt Riddle, who left WWE in 2023 after a successful five-year run, is now considering his options in the wrestling world. Currently signed with MLW, Riddle has expressed interest in possibly joining AEW. He praised AEW’s product and work environment, mentioning that he knows many people there and likes the company’s approach.

Reflecting on his time in WWE, Riddle acknowledged the stress of frequent TV appearances and his provocative character. While he appreciates pressure, he found the constant spotlight challenging. After his WWE release, Riddle initially wanted to step back from television and focus on independent wrestling. However, he now sees AEW as a potential opportunity for better pay and a more manageable schedule. Riddle also hinted at the possibility of working with NJPW through MLW or AEW. Interestingly, he hasn’t ruled out a return to WWE, citing CM Punk’s comeback as an example of how reconciliations can happen in the wrestling industry.
