The Lucha Brothers, Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix, are reportedly set to join WWE after a five-year stint with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). According to recent reports, the duo has agreed to a multi-year deal with WWE and will be joining the main roster directly, bypassing NXT. While the exact details of the contract are yet to be confirmed, this move marks a significant shift in their wrestling careers.

An interesting aspect of their departure from AEW involves Rey Fenix’s contract situation. Despite having the option to extend Fenix’s contract due to injury-related absences, AEW President Tony Khan chose not to exercise this right. Khan’s decision was influenced by Fenix’s loyalty, hard work, and positive backstage presence since AEW’s inception. During their time in AEW, the Lucha Brothers achieved considerable success, winning the AEW and ROH Tag Team Championships, as well as the AEW World Trios Championships. Fenix also had a brief reign as AEW International Champion in 2023.
