Jesse “The Body” Ventura, WWE Hall of Famer and former Governor of Minnesota, has made a return to WWE after a long absence. In a recent interview, Ventura revealed that the departure of former chairman Vince McMahon and the company’s merger with UFC influenced his decision to end his hiatus. He believes that WWE has become more mainstream and open to deal with as a corporate entity.

Ventura reflected on the significant changes in the wrestling industry since his active days, comparing the old system to slavery. He takes pride in being the first wrestler to introduce the concept of using an agent to negotiate with WWE, a move that he believes has paved the way for better contracts for today’s wrestlers. Ventura also mentioned his past attempt to unionize WWE wrestlers, which was ultimately thwarted by Hulk Hogan’s intervention with Vince McMahon. Now, under the leadership of President Nick Khan and Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque, Ventura feels his relationship with WWE has greatly improved.
