Jerry Lawler Confirms End of WWE Commentary Role, Cites Health Concerns
In May, WWE decided not to renew Jerry Lawler’s broadcasting contract. Lawler confirmed this during an interview, attributing the decision to health issues following two strokes. However, he clarified that he remains under contract with WWE.
Lawler recently underwent knee replacement surgery and is recovering. While he acknowledges difficulties living alone, he feels he is doing well overall.
“I had two strokes about seven months ago, and so they started…that’s not good for commentary. But I’m still under contract with them,” Lawler stated.
Although not currently watching much wrestling, Lawler is starting to travel and make more appearances.
