Gail Kim opens up about retirement challenges and finding joy in behind-the-scenes role at TNA Wrestling

Gail Kim, a pioneer in women’s wrestling known for her influential work in WWE and TNA Wrestling, retired in 2019 to become a full-time producer and creative team member for TNA. In a recent interview, Kim opened up about the challenges of transitioning from an active wrestling career to retirement. She admitted that the adjustment was difficult, taking about two years to fully accept her new reality.

Kim now finds fulfillment in her role behind the scenes, particularly in producing matches for the TNA Knockouts division. She expressed that watching other wrestlers perform now brings her more joy than when she was in the ring herself. Kim shared that wrestling is one of the few things that can evoke strong emotions in her, saying she often finds herself moved to tears when seeing female wrestlers create special moments in the ring.
