Former WWE NXT wrestler Quincy Elliott reveals mixed reactions and character confusion during his time with the company
Quincy Elliott, a former WWE NXT wrestler, recently shared insights about his time with the company on the “Developmentally Speaking” podcast. Elliott’s journey in WWE was marked by unexpected audience reactions, which led to confusion about his character’s direction. Initially pushed as a villain, Elliott found himself receiving positive responses from live audiences, forcing WWE to reconsider their approach.
Elliott’s over-the-top character garnered mixed reactions, with some loving it and others disliking it. He felt that WWE didn’t fully understand his character but decided to continue featuring him due to the attention he was receiving. Despite the initial buzz, Elliott’s momentum didn’t last, and he was released from WWE in 2022. However, he remains grateful for the opportunity, describing his time with the company as “a blessing,” especially considering he had only three years of experience in independent wrestling before joining WWE.
