Drew McIntyre Explains Controversial Photo with Jack Perry Amid CM Punk Feud
Drew McIntyre has been pushing CM Punk’s buttons during their ongoing feud, with his most controversial move being a photo posted with AEW’s Jack Perry. Perry was involved in an incident that led to Punk’s AEW firing last year. McIntyre explained on the “Gorilla Position” podcast that the meeting with Perry was coincidental, occurring on a flight to LA. He described it as a friendly encounter and said he suggested taking the picture to give Perry some exposure, not anticipating the intense online reaction.
The photo, combined with McIntyre’s other provocations, may have motivated Punk to defeat McIntyre in a four-corner strap match at Bash in Berlin. Meanwhile, Jack Perry has been busy in AEW, successfully defending his TNT Championship against Darby Allin and attacking Bryan Danielson on “AEW Dynamite.” This has set up a match between Perry and Danielson at the upcoming AEW All Out event in Chicago, which happens to be Punk’s hometown.
