Chris Jericho to Face Mistico at CMLL’s 91 Aniversario Event After 28-Year Arena Mexico Absence
Chris Jericho, former AEW World Champion, is set to face Mistico at CMLL’s 91 Aniversario event on September 13 at Arena Mexico. This marks Jericho’s first match in the venue since 1995 when he performed as Corazon de Leon. The match has been building for months, with Jericho attacking Mistico on June 28 and challenging him to a one-on-one bout. Mistico accepted, promising to train hard for the showdown.
According to reports, Jericho has expressed interest in wrestling multiple opponents in Arena Mexico, suggesting this match may not be a one-time occurrence. The event will also feature other AEW stars, including Willow Nightingale defending her CMLL World Women’s Championship against Zeuxis, and Orange Cassidy making his Arena Mexico debut in a six-man tag team match alongside Rocky Romero and Satoshi Kojima against Volador Jr., Atlantis Jr., and Ultimo Guerrero.
