Beth Phoenix reveals Edge’s grueling schedule before Extreme Rules 2022 I Quit match against Finn Balor

Edge and Finn Balor’s feud, which began after Balor ousted Edge from The Judgment Day in 2022, culminated in a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 39. Edge emerged victorious. During their rivalry, they had a memorable I Quit match at Extreme Rules 2022, where Edge’s wife Beth Phoenix played a significant role.

Phoenix revealed the challenging circumstances surrounding Edge’s participation in the I Quit match. Edge was filming “Percy Jackson” in Vancouver right before the event in Philadelphia. He had to fly overnight, arriving with little to no sleep before competing in a 40-minute match against Balor.

To support her husband, Phoenix suggested her involvement in the match. She also took on the responsibility of transporting Edge’s ring gear from Asheville to Philadelphia. Phoenix met Edge at 11 AM on the day of the event, after he had been filming for two weeks. Upon arrival, Edge only had time for a brief 30-minute rest at the hotel before heading to the venue to prepare for the match.
