Baron Corbin praises NXT stint and Shawn Michaels’ leadership in talent development

Baron Corbin, former King of the Ring winner, has shared his thoughts on his recent stint in WWE’s NXT brand. Corbin returned to NXT in June 2023 and stayed until April 2024, during which time he won the NXT Tag Team Championship with Bron Breakker and competed against notable stars like Carmelo Hayes, Ilya Dragunov, and Wes Lee.

In a recent interview, Corbin spoke highly of his experience working with Shawn Michaels, the Senior VP of Talent Development Creative. He described it as an “amazing experience” that brought out the best in him. Initially asked to work in NXT for just two months, Corbin chose to extend his stay, expressing his desire to continue working with Michaels and the NXT team. He praised the passion and dedication of the NXT staff, including Matt Bloom, Terry Taylor, and Norman Smiley, stating that they “protect [the business] at all costs.”

Corbin also highlighted Michaels’ commitment to helping NXT stars succeed. He noted that Michaels has provided opportunities and tools for wrestlers to tell compelling stories, demonstrating a genuine interest in their development and success within the industry.
