Asuka Signs Long-Term WWE Contract Amid Industry-Wide Talent Shifts

The professional wrestling world has been buzzing with high-profile talent movements across various promotions in 2024. Notable transfers include Kazuchika Okada moving from New Japan to AEW, Ricochet joining AEW from WWE, and Ethan Page making the reverse switch. However, amidst this flurry of activity, one prominent name has decided to stay put: Asuka.

Asuka, the five-time WWE Women’s Champion, has reportedly signed a long-term contract with WWE. This new deal will extend her tenure with the company beyond a decade, as she initially joined in August 2015. Throughout her WWE career, Asuka has achieved significant success, including winning the Women’s Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, and four WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship reigns. Her most recent tag team victory came alongside Kairi Sane as part of the Kabuki Warriors.

Unfortunately, Asuka’s contract extension comes at a time when she is sidelined due to a knee injury suffered in March. The injury required surgery in June and forced her to withdraw from the Queen of the Ring tournament. As of now, there is no set date for her return to in-ring action.
