Mariah May became the new AEW Women’s World Champion after defeating Toni Storm at All In London on August 25. During the match, May took extreme measures, including striking her own mother who was seated in the front row. In a recent interview, May showed no remorse for her actions, stating she has “a real issue with mother figures” in her life.

May explained that her mother was telling her to stop during the match, which she found unacceptable given her lifelong pursuit of becoming a world champion. She expressed frustration that her mother would try to interfere with her dreams, especially after May left home at 20 and moved countries twice to pursue her wrestling career. May has since successfully defended her title against Nyla Rose on AEW Dynamite and awaits her next challenger.
