Nigel McGuinness Returns to Wrestling, Seeks to Prove Himself Against Bryan Danielson

Nigel McGuinness, a former wrestler turned AEW color commentator, has recently come out of retirement after more than a decade away from the ring. He participated in the Casino Gauntlet match at AEW All In and is now preparing for a potential match against his long-time rival Bryan Danielson at “AEW Grand Slam.” Despite this renewed activity, McGuinness claims he doesn’t have unfinished business in wrestling, stating that his retirement in 2011 and subsequent documentary gave him a sense of closure.

However, McGuinness admits that there’s still one thing he needs to prove – that he was as good as Bryan Danielson. He explains that his return isn’t about winning titles or achieving fame, but rather about demonstrating that he could have had the same level of success as Danielson if circumstances had been different. McGuinness believes that defeating Danielson at Arthur Ashe Stadium would validate his skills and prove that he was equally talented, settling a long-standing question in his mind.
