AEW is nearing a new media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, reportedly worth around $170 million for a four-year period. The agreement would keep AEW programming on TNT and TBS, with potential expansion to TruTV. AEW pay-per-views are expected to become available on the Max streaming platform starting in January, while still being accessible through other platforms.

There are some uncertainties regarding the future of specific AEW shows. “AEW Rampage” may not continue on TNT or TBS, possibly moving to TruTV or facing cancellation. A new show called “AEW Shockwave” is also in the works, with rumors linking it to Fox. However, it’s unclear which specific Fox network might be involved, as executives often use general terms when referring to network groups.

While WWE doesn’t anticipate Fox using AEW as a replacement for “WWE SmackDown,” Fox’s sales team reportedly believes wrestling content is marketable. The official announcement of the new AEW deal has been expected for several weeks, with the latest speculation suggesting it could happen in the coming week.
