CM Punk surprises on WWE NXT, named guest referee; Booker T addresses rumored tension with Punk

CM Punk made a surprise appearance on “WWE NXT” this week, interrupting a contract signing and announcing his role as special guest referee for the upcoming NXT Championship match between Ethan Page and Trick Williams on October 5. Since his return to WWE in November, Punk has been actively involved behind the scenes, offering guidance to younger talent.

Following the show, NXT commentator Booker T addressed rumors of tension between himself and Punk. On his podcast, Booker T revealed that he had a positive interaction with Punk backstage, describing it as “refreshing.” He clarified that despite public perception, they never had any real issues with each other. Booker T admitted to making comments about Punk during his UFC stint but maintained that these remarks were not meant to be hurtful or malicious.
