Janel Grant’s legal team holds press conference, anticipates indictment in Vince McMahon case
A press conference was held by the legal team of Janel Grant, a former WWE employee who is suing Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE for sexual abuse and trafficking. The conference took place ahead of the release of a Netflix docuseries about McMahon’s downfall. Grant’s civil lawsuit is currently on hold until December due to an ongoing non-public investigation by the Southern District of New York into McMahon.
During the press conference, Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, expressed hope for an imminent indictment and stated that they are not frustrated with the pace of the criminal investigation. Callis, a former criminal judge, emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation over a speedy one. The legal team also mentioned that they had heard from other alleged victims of WWE before the case was paused, but have not spoken to any current victims due to the ongoing investigation.
