LA Knight retains US Championship against Andrade on SmackDown, post-match brawl erupts with Carmelo Hayes
LA Knight successfully defended his United States Championship against Andrade in the opening match of WWE SmackDown. Andrade, who recently defeated Carmelo Hayes in a best-of-five series, was aiming to become a two-time US Champion. Despite Andrade’s strong showing, including his signature spinning back elbow and a moonsault, Knight managed to counter Andrade’s finisher and secure the win with his BFT move.
After the match, Andrade shook Knight’s hand in a show of respect. However, backstage, Andrade encountered Carmelo Hayes, leading to a brawl between the two before they were separated. This incident suggests their rivalry will continue. Knight’s victory marks his third successful title defense since winning the championship from Logan Paul at SummerSlam in August, with his reign now surpassing 49 days.
