Former WWE Star Miro Reportedly Seeks Release from AEW Amid Creative Differences
Reports suggest that Miro, formerly known as Rusev in WWE, has requested his release from All Elite Wrestling (AEW). This news comes after a long period of apparent dissatisfaction with his role in the company. Miro hasn’t competed in AEW at all this year, with his last match occurring at the Worlds End pay-per-view in late 2023. Although he was sidelined due to injury following that event, he reportedly recovered months ago.
The wrestler’s absence from AEW programming over the past two years is largely attributed to creative differences with management. While there were plans to involve Miro in recent storylines, including a potential angle with Jon Moxley, these ideas didn’t come to fruition due to disagreements. It’s worth noting that Miro is currently under a lucrative multi-year contract with AEW, set to expire in Spring 2026. This existing agreement could potentially complicate the process of granting his release if requested.
