Rob Van Dam Makes Surprise Appearance on WWE Smackdown, Reveals Last-Minute Invitation
Rob Van Dam made a surprise appearance on the season premiere of “WWE Smackdown” last week, his first appearance on WWE television since being inducted into the Hall of Fame in April 2024. Van Dam was seated in the front row alongside other WWE legends like Vickie Guerrero and Teddy Long.
On his podcast “1 Of A Kind,” Van Dam shared details about his return to “Smackdown” with his wife Katie Forbes. He revealed that WWE invited him with very short notice, giving him only a day’s heads up. Despite the last-minute invitation, Van Dam was thrilled to be part of the show’s 25-year anniversary celebration. He enjoyed catching up with old friends, particularly Paul Heyman, whom he considers a close friend in the industry.
Van Dam also mentioned that many people backstage thanked him for coming and complimented his podcast. He appreciated the warm reception and the positive atmosphere during his visit. Overall, the former WWE star described the experience as having a “good vibe” and expressed gratitude for being included in the special event.
