Nigel McGuinness Returns to Wrestling After 13 Years, Challenges Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam
Nigel McGuinness made his return to professional wrestling after a 13-year hiatus at AEW All In: London. He has since challenged his former rival, Bryan Danielson, to a match at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. In a recent interview, McGuinness revealed that he had been preparing for this comeback for 18 months, knowing that All In would be held at Wembley Stadium in London. He dedicated himself to getting back in shape, stating that he was potentially ready for last year’s event but definitely prepared for this year’s.
The idea of revisiting the McGuinness-Danielson rivalry was met with enthusiasm by AEW President Tony Khan. McGuinness described Khan as a passionate wrestling fan who is deeply knowledgeable about the industry. The concept of McGuinness’s return was first discussed during a flight to New York to announce the first Wembley show. Initially, the plan was for McGuinness to face Danielson at Wembley, but the process took longer than anticipated to come to fruition.
