AEW Dynamite Grand Slam Adds Women’s World Championship Match to Stacked Card
The upcoming AEW Dynamite Grand Slam event at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York, on September 25 has added another exciting match to its already stacked card. AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May will defend her title against Yuka Sakazaki, also known as “The Magical Girl.”
This championship match was set up following a controversial tag team bout on the September 18 episode of Dynamite. During that match, May and Serena Deeb faced off against Sakazaki and Queen Aminata. The match ended in disqualification when May struck Sakazaki with her championship belt just as Sakazaki appeared to have victory within reach. This interference not only cost May and Deeb the match but also set the stage for the upcoming title showdown at Grand Slam.
The Grand Slam event will feature several other high-profile matches, including Darby Allin risking his AEW World Championship shot against Jon Moxley, and The Young Bucks defending their AEW Tag Team Championships against Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher. There’s also potential for a match between Nigel McGuinness and Bryan Danielson, pending Danielson’s medical clearance.
