Ricochet to Challenge Ospreay for International Championship at AEW’s 5-Year Anniversary Show
A highly anticipated match has been set for AEW’s five-year anniversary show of “Dynamite” on October 2 in Pittsburgh. New AEW signee Ricochet will challenge Will Ospreay for the International Championship. This comes after Ricochet confronted Ospreay backstage, stating he had improved his win record as Ospreay had previously suggested. Ricochet also pointed out that while many in AEW were trying to prove themselves better than him, few were calling out Ospreay.
The match between Ricochet and Ospreay is particularly exciting due to their rich history. They have faced each other nine times in singles competition, with Ospreay holding a slight edge of five wins to Ricochet’s four. Their encounter at New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Best of the Super Juniors in 2016 is especially well-remembered. This upcoming match will be their first meeting since 2017, adding to the anticipation for this championship bout.
