The recent AEW All Out 2024 event sparked controversy due to its extreme violence, featuring scenes of blood, syringes, and asphyxiation. Former wrestler Matt Hardy shared mixed feelings about the show, particularly noting a scene where a bag was placed over Bryan’s head. While Hardy found this moment nostalgic, reminiscent of a classic Terry Funk and Ric Flair encounter, he expressed concern about its appropriateness for family audiences.

Hardy suggested that such intense violence might limit AEW’s appeal to families and younger viewers. He acknowledged the storytelling intent behind the brutality but questioned whether it was a wise business decision. AEW’s CEO Tony Khan has defended the company’s approach, stating they are aware of their violent reputation but believe they understand where to draw the line. Meanwhile, AEW broadcaster Tony Schiavone took a more lighthearted stance, dismissing concerns about the extreme content.
