Eric Bischoff: AEW Not Ready to Rival WWE, Should Focus on Growth Instead of Competition
Eric Bischoff, former WCW executive, has shared his thoughts on the rivalry between AEW and WWE. Despite AEW’s rapid rise since 2019 as a competitor to WWE, Bischoff believes that AEW is not yet developed enough to be a strong rival. He suggests that instead of challenging WWE, AEW President Tony Khan should be thanking them for creating an environment that allowed AEW to grow.
Bischoff argues that AEW’s product and brand are still in the early stages of development. He advises against making comparisons to WWE until AEW stops losing audience members. Bischoff recommends that Khan should focus on praising WWE and appealing to their fans rather than trying to challenge them directly. He also dismisses comparisons between AEW and WCW, stating that AEW is nowhere near the level WCW reached, even during its decline.
