Oba Femi Nears Historic Milestone as NXT North American Champion, Aims to Surpass Wes Lee’s Record
Oba Femi, the current NXT North American Champion, is on the verge of making history in WWE. With his reign currently at 252 days, Femi is just 18 days away from breaking the record for the longest-held NXT North American Championship, currently held by Wes Lee at 269 days.
Femi has announced his intention to break this record through social media posts on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). He expressed excitement about the potential milestone, calling it “huge” for himself and his fans, whom he refers to as “Oba Feminists.” Despite calls from some fans for him to move up to the NXT Championship scene, Femi seems focused on cementing his legacy with the North American title first.
Throughout his reign, Femi has successfully defended his championship against notable opponents such as Tony D’Angelo, Dragon Lee, Ivar, Duke Hudson, and even the previous record holder, Wes Lee. The current record was set by Lee between October 2022 and July 2023, during which he defended against wrestlers like Carmelo Hayes, Nathan Frazer, and Tyler Bate.
Let it be known, Oba Feminists this is the home stretch. https://t.co/8mj2UnheEd
