AEW nears new media deal, but Bischoff skeptical about rumored FOX network show
AEW (All Elite Wrestling) is reportedly close to announcing a new media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. Additionally, there are rumors about AEW potentially getting a show on a FOX network, possibly FS1, after the company trademarked the name “AEW Shockwave.” However, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has expressed skepticism about this possibility on his podcast “83 Weeks.”
Bischoff firmly believes that AEW will never air on the main FOX network but acknowledges that FS1 might be a possibility. He doubts AEW’s potential success on FS1, citing the promotion’s current performance on TBS and questioning their ability to produce another successful show. Bischoff also highlighted potential challenges with FS1, including the likelihood of frequent schedule changes due to other sports programming, which could make it difficult for AEW to promote their show effectively.
