Konnan praises Ricochet’s talent but criticizes WWE for limiting his potential
Ricochet, known as Prince Puma in Lucha Underground, gained significant mainstream exposure in the American wrestling scene through his performances in the cult-favorite promotion. His matches against notable opponents like Johnny Mundo, The Lucha Brothers, and Rey Mysterio contributed to his eventual signing with WWE in 2018.
Konnan, who recruited Ricochet to Lucha Underground, recently praised the wrestler’s abilities on the “Keepin’ It 100” podcast. He ranked Ricochet as the best performer he had seen after Rey Mysterio, highlighting not only his in-ring talent but also his charisma and popularity outside the ring. However, Konnan expressed disappointment with Ricochet’s WWE run, feeling that the company’s hands-on approach prevented fans from seeing the same level of performance he had displayed in Lucha Underground and independent promotions.
