AEW’s Lance Archer Shares Positive Experience with Controversial Wrestler Ahmed Johnson
Ahmed Johnson, a prominent wrestler from the 1990s and former WWE Intercontinental Champion, has long been known for his challenging reputation in the wrestling industry. However, AEW star Lance Archer recently shared a different perspective on Johnson based on their interaction in 2002. Archer, then known as “Shadow” in PCW, recalled that Johnson specifically chose to work with him and even put him over in their match. Despite Johnson’s reputation for being difficult, Archer described their experience as “great” and “awesome.”
Johnson’s career extended beyond WWE, including a stint in WCW where he teamed with Stevie Ray as part of Harlem Heat. Interestingly, Johnson compared the locker rooms of WWE and WCW, stating that the wrestlers in WCW were tougher than those in WWE, whom he colorfully described as less genuine. This insight provides a glimpse into Johnson’s experiences across different wrestling promotions and his perceptions of the industry’s culture during his active years.
