Cody Rhodes retains WWE title against Solo Sikoa, but opinions on his championship run remain divided
Cody Rhodes, the current Undisputed WWE Champion, successfully defended his title against Solo Sikoa on a recent episode of “WWE SmackDown.” This victory comes after Rhodes dethroned Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, completing his long-awaited “story.” However, opinions are divided on the quality of Rhodes’ championship run so far.
Booker T, speaking on his “Hall of Fame” podcast, expressed confidence in Rhodes’ reign, stating that it will end when the time is right from a storytelling perspective. He acknowledged the potential of Solo Sikoa, who many consider to be a rising star in WWE, but wasn’t certain if now was the right time for a title change. On the other hand, Bully Ray criticized Rhodes’ run on “Busted Open Radio,” arguing that the champion lacks a formidable rival. He compared the situation to Rhodes’ previous feud with The Rock, suggesting that “The American Nightmare” needs a heel opponent of similar caliber to make his title reign more compelling.
