Matt Riddle has been making waves in the wrestling world since his release from WWE in 2023. He won the NJPW World Television Championship in February, but lost it to Zack Sabre Jr. five months ago at the Windy City Riot event. After that match, Riddle had an awkward encounter with AEW President Tony Khan backstage, which he described as confusing due to his sarcastic nature.

Despite this setback, Riddle has continued to find success in various promotions. He currently holds the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship and has been the Combat World 1 Champion for 218 days. Recently, Riddle also emerged victorious in the 40-Man Battle Riot VI match at MLW Battle Riot VI, competing against notable wrestlers like Bobby Fish, Minoru Suzuki, and Mistico.
