AEW gears up for major events, uncertainty surrounds Swerve Strickland’s appearance at WrestleDream
AEW is gearing up for a series of major events, including the Grand Slam special at Arthur Ashe Stadium, the show’s fifth anniversary, and Title Tuesday episodes. These will lead up to the WrestleDream pay-per-view in Tacoma, Washington on October 12. However, there’s uncertainty about whether Tacoma native Swerve Strickland will appear at WrestleDream.
Strickland, who recently lost a high-profile match against Adam Page, is currently off TV to recover from storyline injuries. This break might extend through the WrestleDream event in his hometown. Similarly, MJF is also taking time off. Both wrestlers are expected to return by the Thanksgiving Eve edition of Dynamite on November 27 in Chicago, which follows the Full Gear pay-per-view. This Chicago show may also feature matches from the returning Continental Classic tournament.
