Sammy Guevara Shows Sportsmanship in AEW Return Match Loss Against Ricochet
Sammy Guevara, who recently returned from suspension, faced Ricochet in his first AEW singles match since July. Despite losing the high-energy contest on “AEW Dynamite,” Guevara remained positive and grateful for the experience. After the match, he helped Ricochet fend off an attack from The Beast Mortos, showing good sportsmanship.
Following the event, Guevara shared his thoughts on social media, expressing gratitude for his life and the opportunity to compete against Ricochet, whom he considers one of the best wrestlers. He acknowledged Ricochet’s victory while maintaining an optimistic outlook on future opportunities. This loss marks Guevara’s first defeat since his return, as he had previously been successful in tag team and multi-person matches.
While Guevara’s next steps are uncertain, his tag team partner Dustin Rhodes has indicated an interest in pursuing more championships. This suggests the possibility of the duo aiming for AEW titles in the future, building on their recent success as ROH Tag Team Champions.
Waking up today feeling grateful, what a cool life I get to live. last night I got to step in there with one of the best & had a killer match.
I gave it my all but in the end It wasn’t my night BUT it doesn’t mean tomorrow won’t be. So we continue going forward on this… pic.twitter.com/UY5GBuupBC
