WWE NXT sees slight viewership dip but gains in key demographic ahead of network move
WWE NXT’s recent episode saw a slight dip in overall viewership but a notable increase in the key 18-49 demographic. The show attracted 628,000 viewers, down from 631,000 the previous week, but experienced a 12% rise in the 18-49 age group, achieving a 0.19 rating. This comes as NXT prepares for its upcoming move from the USA Network to The CW on October 1.
The episode featured several high-profile matches, including three title bouts. The debut of former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Giulia against Chelsea Green was the highest-rated segment of the night. In contrast, the opening half of the main event, a Last Man Standing Match between Trick Williams and Pete Dunne, drew the lowest ratings. The show also included a TNA Knockouts Championship match and an NXT Tag Team Championship match, the latter of which ended in a no-contest due to an invasion by The Bloodline.
Despite the recent uptick in the key demographic, NXT’s overall September viewership is down 16% compared to last year, with the 18-49 demographic showing a 14% decrease. The upcoming debut on The CW in Chicago will feature Trick Williams challenging NXT Champion Ethan Page, setting the stage for a potentially significant shift in the show’s audience and presentation.
