AEW-Fox TV Deal Rumors Intensify as Star Posts Cryptic Photo and Company Trademarks New Show Name
Rumors are swirling about a potential TV deal between All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Fox. AEW star Rush added to the speculation by posting a photo of himself beneath a Fox Sports logo on social media, with a cryptic caption in English and Spanish. This comes amid ongoing negotiations between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery for a new media rights agreement, which AEW President Tony Khan has hinted is close to completion but not yet finalized.
Adding to the intrigue, AEW recently trademarked the name “AEW Shockwave,” leading to speculation that the company might be eyeing the timeslot previously occupied by WWE SmackDown on Fox. Reports suggest that Fox has been in talks with AEW, potentially seeking a more cost-effective wrestling program to replace SmackDown. While Fox appreciated the ad revenue generated by SmackDown, the high costs associated with the show have apparently led the network to consider other options. However, no official confirmation of a deal between AEW and Fox has been announced at this time.
